Doctorate Programs for Natural Healers

There are a number of good schools that provide Doctorate programs in natural healing leading to the Doctoral Degree. Among the many natural healing degree programs, there are a variety of titles available, such as Doctorate in Education (Ed.D) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Oriental Medicine Doctor (OMD), for instance.

Degree programs in alternate healing are many and varied, and can include many interesting subjects ranging from acupuncture to zoology. Some traditional colleges and universities offer natural healing studies leading to doctoral degrees, and there are a number of schools of Oriental medicine, naturopathic medicine, natural healing, and chiropractic that also provide graduate degrees.

Pre-requisites for enrollment in a Doctorate Degree program can differ greatly depending on the university and the specific field of study; however, applicants are usually required to have completed an appropriate Master Degree program, and have at least two years of professional experience in the specific field.

One of the most popular Doctorate programs in natural healing would be the Chiropractic Degree program which is necessary to become a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). Chiropractic is an intense program of study that can take several years to complete, with courses in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and of course, many hours of practical applications of chiropractic techniques.

Others may seek degrees to become a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM). Such a credential is designed to prove expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and allows the practitioner to gain licensure to practice in the US.
